Welcome.

I offer psychotherapy to individuals and couples, and social dreaming to groups and organisations.

The UK has always been a rich mixture of cultures, nationalities, class and wealth; I am privileged by the diversity of those who come to work with me. I work with sexuality in all its variety.

Finding the right therapist is an important process, I wish you well in it.

As you may have found from your searches, it is possible to make a list of some of the problems with which psychotherapy can help. These include depression, anxiety, panic, mid-life crises, obsessions, lack of spiritual fulfillment, trauma, psychological origins of physical illness and frustrations in relationships and work. Such formulations are starting points. What they mean for you is a matter to be discovered in the journey of the therapy.

While attention is given to problems and pain, it is important to know that suffering-joined-with-the-search-for-help is growth happening towards life, light, and joy in being alive. Liberated growth is far stronger than illness.

When a client can do for her/him self what the therapy sessions do, the work is done.

Over the years in my practice of Jungian psychotherapy I have learned from and continue to learn from many sources that support the importance of listening and co-construction of meaning.  I am nourished in my own growth and studies by the culture that has grown from Carl Jung's courageous explorations.  Over the years I have immersed myself in different schools including those of Energy Psychotherapy, Relational Psychoanalysis, Imago couple Therapy and Shamanic practice. Each may come into play as suits you.  The methods in energy psychotherapy are good self-help tools as well as profound and interesting.

I do work on-line as well as meeting in person.

As a result of our collective inertia in response to the damage we cause our world, our environments, and the Covid pandemics, we are confronted with huge changes and uncertainties.  Climate change, pandemics, the war in Ukraine, food and economic insecurity, are just some of the complex systems that are interacting to make us vulnerable. It is not possible to be conscious and aware without being frightened.  As a result we have to dig deeper to think clearly about needs and responsibilities.

Our natural human state is more intelligent than our conscious cognition; this is the essence of what psychotherapy has to offer.

Putting it very succinctly, suffering, pains, confusions are searches for meaning that cannot be expressed in any other way. Feelings, images that spontaneously arise, dreams that come as we sleep, are all complex forms of thought.  We happen to ourselves just as heart-beats happen. Psychotherapy can help in learning how to access different ways of knowing.

The therapist listens to what is happening as well as what is spoken. He/she does this without necessarily in the first place understanding; this can emerge in the process of conversation.  The therapist teaches the client to listen to him or herself by example.

Do get in touch if you feel a conversation would help you to determine how I could be of help to you.
